Bridgestone - 100 Best Restaurants in Ireland 2009 - John & Sally McKenna

"One of the newer stars of West Cork, Over the Moon is a restaurant that runs like brilliant clockwork, thanks to Francois & Jennifers skills.
So, theres the three generations of McKennas in Over the Moon, Granny, Mum and Dad, and the three kids and are we having the best time? We sure are. Why? Simple: Jennifer Conradie is one of the best front-of-house operators in the entire business this girl is a true star and Francois Conradies cooking is so moreish, so elegant and controlled and dedicated to deliciousness that having a good time in OTM is a given, a guarantee, copper-fastened, blue chip.
Everything we ate from West Cork crab mayonnaise with sourdough toast and fennel salad, by way of classics like spring lamb with champ & a red wine jus or hake with fried polenta and green beans and roast fennel, and culminating in apple, rhubarb and ginger crumble with vanilla ice cream was food that had been given an extra dose of TLC from everyone down the line, from the suppliers to the kitchen to the staff out front: feel the love! taste the passion! All this goodness & amazing value for money."
